Our Story

Welcome to our corner of Canton, GA, where we cherish life with our four amazing children, beloved dogs, and other barn animals. We are a multi-family program. My partner Laila is in Southern Cali, where occasionally we love to escape, often accompanied by our furry companions.

My passion for dogs began in childhood, raised in a dog-friendly home where I learned the joys of unconditional love and companionship that only a dog can show. As I grew and entered adulthood, I found myself fascinated with the idea of showing and handling these beautiful creatures. I'm sure I, like many of you, watched in amazement at the achievements these dogs can do from the Westminster show on TV, to the agility trials at our local show, to witnessing what these service-trained dogs can do for their owners. I was hooked. Thankfully for me, my interest was only intensified and not extinguished when I met my best friend and now partner, who was already established in the dog world. She got me into the dog "fancier" world, and I was hooked! She, along with other great representatives of their respective breed, instilled in me the importance of responsible breeding and the pursuit of excellence in any breed I find myself in, focusing on their appearance, structure, temperament, and natural abilities of these amazing companions. The betterment of the breed was always ALL of their number 1 priority, and it is mine as well.

I believe in lifelong learning, and I value what my mentors and now friends have reinforced throughout my journey. I’m grateful to have worked with remarkable and the most amazing mentors, and I take immense pride in the knowledge I have learned and am still learning from them. It's because of them that I have what I have today. Labradors to be proud of and ones that I am happy to stand behind. About Dukes Retrievers

My journey into breeding was with the beloved Golden Retrievers in the mid-2000s, rooted in a deep love for these incredible dogs and their remarkable temperament. Growing up in a dog-loving home, I was fortunate to be surrounded by their love, which ignited my passion for them. Its no wonder how easily it was for me to get right into Labs when I first laid eyes on them it was like love at first sight. They, like Goldens, possess an affectionate nature, workability, and eagerness to please, albeit they have higher drives than their long-haired counterparts. This lifelong admiration has fueled my commitment to raising exceptional pups that enrich families' lives.

I utilize the Bio-Sensor Training method, also known as the "Super Dog Program," originally developed for U.S. military training. This approach focuses on early neurological stimulation, which has proven to enhance the puppies’ resilience and adaptability. In recent years, I have expanded my program to include Avidog, Puppy Culture, and other innovative training methodologies. These comprehensive strategies not only produce beautiful, conformationally sound puppies but also foster well-rounded, trainable companions that thrive in family environments.

At the heart of my breeding philosophy is a commitment to both physical and mental well-being. I prioritize careful, selective breeding to enhance the qualities defined by the breed standard, ensuring that each puppy embodies the ideal Labrador Retriever. My goal is to deliver dogs that are not just stunning in appearance but also possess the temperament and personality that make them beloved family members.
